1. To have a document which originates in the United Kingdom accepted in the People's Republic of China, you need to have it legalized firstly at the Legalization Office of British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and then by the Chinese Embassy.
2. According to the Sino-British Agreement, Hague Convention is still effective in Hong Kong after July 1, 1997. If the document has already been legalized by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, it can be used in HK without legalization of the Chinese Embassy.
3. Please be advised that the legalization by the Chinese Embassy only confirms that the signature of British Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the apostille attached to your document is genuine. It does not mean that the contents of the document are correct or the Chinese Embassy approves of the contents.
4. The original document and a photocopy of your document is required.
5. You may send your documents to us by secured post or courier and we can get it legalized both in British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and also the Chinese Embassy.
